TOP STORIES Rochester City Ballet To Hold The Rochester City Ballet (RCB) announces the audition date for the 2010 production of Tchaikovskys The Nutcracker. Each year, RCB collaborates with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) to bring this much-loved holiday classic to the Kodak Hall at the Eastman Theatre. Last year, more than 150 local children auditioned for the opportunity to dance alongside Rochesters only professional ballet company in The Nutcracker.
Rochester City Ballet Presents Rochester City Ballet (RCB) is pleased to announce Legends of Dance as its spring 2010 performance. The revolutionary production will feature choreography by the New York City Ballet co-founder, George Balanchine; Joffrey Ballet co-founder, Gerald Arpino; contemporary master, Patrick Corbin; and RCBs own artistic director, Jamey Leverett.
Sit-In On An Open Rehearsal With The Rochester City Ballet Artistic Director, Jamey Leverett Rochester City Ballet (RCB) will open its doors for the last open rehearsal in a series of four. The public is invited to sit-in on a rehearsal with the company as RCB artistic director, Jamey Leverett, completes an original work for the ballets spring performance, Legends of Dance. The piece will be performed alongside Balanchines Serenade, Arpinos Valentine, and an original work from Patrick Corbin during the May 14-16 performances.
Sit-In On An Open Rehearsal For An Exclusive First Look At Gerald ArpinoS Valentine Rochester City Ballet (RCB) will open its doors again for the third in a series of four open rehearsals. The public is invited to sit-in on a working rehearsal with the company as world renowned ballet mistress and Joffrey Ballet authority, Cameron Basden, sets Gerald Arpinos Valentine on the dancers. Acclaimed musician and Eastman School of Music professor, James VanDemark, will accompany the dancers on the double bass. The piece will be featured in RCBs spring performance, Legends of Dance.
Rochester City Ballet Adds Seven New Dancers The Rochester City Ballet is pleased to announce the addition of four new company members and three new apprentices to the organization. Hayley Meier, Karl Moll, Ben Rabe and Jill Schwartz join the RCB as company members. Courtney Catalana, Brenee Michael and Kelsey Schneider have been appointed as the company apprentices.
