Amanda Melrose-Smith

Amanda Melrose-Smith Amanda Melrose-Smith joined Rochester City Ballet after receiving her dance training on scholarship at The Washington School of Ballet, and at Miami City Ballet School. Ms. Melrose-Smith has attended summer intensives at American Ballet Theatre (New York City), Boston Ballet and Miami City Ballet, and on scholarship at The Harid Conservatory and Chautauqua Festival Dancers. With the Rochester City Ballet she has danced in The Nutcracker, LumaVoce, as the Winter Fairy in Cinderella and other contemporary works by artistic director Jamey Leverett including Hoedown with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and her newest work, How to Break a Heart. This past spring, Ms. Melrose-Smith was chosen to dance the Elegy Girl in Balanchine's Serenade. She has performed with American Ballet Theatre at Radio City Music Hall in New York City and with the Washington Ballet in Giselle and in Balanchine's Serenade at The Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. Ms. Melrose-Smith is currently majoring in liberal arts at Monroe Community College.
