SIT-IN ON AN OPEN REHEARSAL FOR AN EXCLUSIVE FIRST LOOK
AT GERALD ARPINO’S “VALENTINE”

Watch as Renowned Dancer and Ballet Mistress, Cameron Basden, sets the piece on Rochester City Ballet

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Rochester City Ballet (RCB) will open its doors again for the third in a series of four open rehearsals. The public is invited to sit-in on a working rehearsal with the company as world renowned ballet mistress and Joffrey Ballet authority, Cameron Basden, sets Gerald Arpino’s “Valentine” on the dancers. Acclaimed musician and Eastman School of Music professor, James VanDemark, will accompany the dancers on the double bass. The piece will be featured in RCB’s spring performance, “Legends of Dance.”

Cameron Basden’s career in dance spans more than 30 years. She was handpicked by Gerald Arpino and Robert Joffrey to serve as the voice of their company in the future. Additionally, she has served as the Joffrey ballet mistress and assistant artistic director. Today, Basden is responsible for maintaining the overall excellence of The Joffrey Ballet repertory, as well as the technique and artistry of the dancers.
