FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: ROCHESTER CITY BALLET TO HOLD NUTCRACKER AUDITIONS ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Rochester City Ballet (RCB) announces the audition date for the 2010 production of Tchaikovskys The Nutcracker. Each year, RCB collaborates with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) to bring this much-loved holiday classic to the Kodak Hall at the Eastman Theatre. Last year, more than 150 local children auditioned for the opportunity to dance alongside Rochesters only professional ballet company in The Nutcracker.
Auditions for the performances will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at the Rochester City Ballet studios located at 1326 University Avenue, Rochester. Registration is as follows: The Company is interested in all boys and girls ages five twelve years old. Due to costume restrictions, dancers should be within 44 58 inches tall and weight appropriate to height. Dance experience is considered a plus, but not mandatory. Please note that if selected, a performance fee will be required of all dancers and all Nutcracker rehearsals are closed to the public. The 2010 performances of The Nutcracker will take place on November 26th through 28th at the Kodak Hall at the Eastman Theatre, 26 Gibbs Street, Downtown Rochester.
