FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: ROCHESTER CITY BALLET TO HOLD NUTCRACKER AUDITIONS ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Rochester City Ballet has recently announced the audition date for next season’s production of Tchaikovsky’s classic ballet The Nutcracker. Auditions for the performances will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2006 at the Rochester Ballet facility located at 1326 University Avenue, Rochester. Registration is as follows:
The Company is interested in all boys and girls ages five – twelve years old. Due to costume restrictions, dancers should be within 44 – 58 inches tall and weight appropriate to height. Some dance experience is considered a plus, but not mandatory. For more information please contact Kathy Ertsgaard at the Rochester City Ballet offices, 585- 461-5850. Please note that all rehearsals are closed to the public and if selected, a performance fee will be required. The Nutcracker production is a collaboration between the Rochester City Ballet and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. The 2006 performances take place on November 24th through November 26th. The Rochester City Ballet (RCB), founded in 1987, is a non-profit, educational corporation. The Company presents a full season of quality dance to diverse audiences and helps keep the arts alive by presenting performances to educate and entertain adults and children at community events and special RCB performances.
